Privacy
Atrium holds as little about you as it can: your university email, which proves you are a student here and is the only thing that identifies you; a password hash, never the password; your language preference; and whatever you choose to write. Nothing else is collected and nothing is bought from anyone else.
Why each one. The email verifies eligibility and lets us reach you about your account, on the basis of the contract you enter by creating one. Session data keeps you signed in and stops abuse, on the basis of a legitimate interest in a service that works. What you write is published under the same contract. Launch mail is sent on consent alone, and only if you ticked that box.
How long. Your account and its email last while the account does and are erased the moment you delete it. Sign-in sessions expire after thirty days. Rate-limit records, which hold a truncated network address and never a full one, are deleted after two hours. Moderation decisions are kept for six years, because they are the record that we acted in good faith. Published notes are kept indefinitely, with no author attached to them.
Where it sits. Atrium runs on servers outside Qatar and your data is processed there. That is a transfer out of the country, and you should know it before you sign up rather than after. The application and the database run in the same region.
The servers and the database both run in region bom1.
What you can ask for: a copy of everything held about you, a correction of anything wrong, or deletion of the account. Deletion happens immediately and in front of you, not within thirty days, and you choose whether your notes are anonymised or destroyed with it. Write to team@atriumuni.com and a person answers within two working days. Atrium sets no third-party cookies, loads nothing from other servers, and asks search engines not to index it.
Version 2026-08-20. Consent records store this, so what you agreed to can always be identified.Atrium is open to students at Qatar University and University of Doha for Science and Technology. Access requires a working address on one of these domains: qu.edu.qa, udst.edu.qa.
